About Valley of The Rainbow

Valley of The Rainbow is located in a private nature reserve in a secluded valley surrounded by mountains, approximately 20 km from Dullstroom and only two hours’ drive from Johannesburg. The estate is in a malaria and bilharzia-free area, with a mild climate, and guests can experience fly-fishing in rivers and lakes surrounded by indigenous forests.

The Manor House offers five luxurious bedrooms, each with own sitting area and en-suite bathroom. Guests can relax in the lounge with bar, furnished with exquisite furniture. The Country House is decorated in a classic country style and offers five en-suite bedrooms opening onto a veranda, while the Tent Chalets are permanently fixed on wooden decks and situated in an indigenous forest overlooking one of the lakes in the valley. Each tent provides sleeping for up to four guests and also features an en-suite bathroom.

Guests can participate in organized outdoor activities, including fly-fishing in the river and lakes for the elusive rainbow and brown trout, shooting, horse riding and canoeing. Non-fishing guests will appreciate the tranquility and natural beauty of the setting. The mountains invite guests to go wandering along the walking trails on which one can expect to find a variety of small game including Grey duiker, Steenbuck, Grey reebok and vervet monkey, over 200 species of birds, and an abundance of wild flowers and plants.

Reception was very friendly and helpful. The log cabin was tidy , well equipped, comfortable, modern and well looked after. Management of Valley of the Rainbow seem to be serious about good service and going the extra mile for their visitors .

We had a breakaway weekend and this was wonderful. The chalet was clean and well made up with enough space and luxury. The farm itself is set in some very beautiful countryside and we really had a great relaxing weekend. Shaun and Marjie was very friendly and accommodating and I would definitely recommend this for a couples breakaway weekend or for the avid fly fisherman!

My husband and I had an amazing stay. We were completely relaxed and didnt want to leave by the time we had to go home. The Log cabins are cozy, modernly furnished but with comfort in mind.Kitchen is well outfitted and fireplace and gas braai worked very well. You can lie in bed in the morning and look out at the forest and hills while you have your coffee.Log cabins were a good distance from each other to give you privacy and the stream down below runs past the front of the log cabins which is great to fall asleep to at night. We went on one or two hikes and did some fly fishing around the...
