About The Beach House Lodge
The Beach House Lodge is positioned on a secluded Salt Rock Beach. It has four very spacious and luxurious en-suite bedrooms, of which some have a private TV lounge. All rooms have incredible sea views. The Beach House sleeps eight guests, offering absolute luxury and privacy. A magnificent wooden pool deck spans the entire width of the lodge and overlooks the sea. There is ample outdoor furniture for lounging and soaking up the sun while you watch the dolphins play. During the winter months, the whales are spotted regularly in front of the lodge and they can be seen from every room in the house.
The house comprises an open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen, which includes a washing machine, tumble-dryer and dishwasher. The lounge area is equipped with a large LED TV with hotel-style DStv. Please bring your own HD decoder and smart card should you require more channels. The large dining room has seating for 12 guests and this area opens out onto the wooden deck, braai and pool area. From here, guests can step out onto the pristine beach. There is also a second lounge area upstairs. The deck has designer outdoor furniture, with an eight to 10 seater table and chairs, three sun loungers, a large outdoor couch and a built-in braai. Guests can enjoy air-conditioning in all of the bedrooms and the upstairs TV lounge. The home includes three lock-up garages and extra secure parking for four cars. There is emergency power backup and a daily, weekday cleaning service.
Two tidal pools are located nearby for calm, leisurely swims and they are perfect for small children. The beach directly in front of the lodge offers excellent fishing and it has perfect conditions for paddle skiing, kitesurfing, swimming and surfing. The beach is protected by shark nets and the main beach, which is 200 m to the south, has professional life guards on duty.
Because of its unique and breathtaking location, The Beach House Lodge has proved to be a popular venue for photo shoots for brides and TV commercials. The Salt Rock Hotel, which is located next door to the lodge, offers a casual buffet and fantastic carvery. They are famous for their delicious, traditional Durban curries and excellent fish and chips. The Canelands Boutique Hotel is also next door and it offers yet another superb restaurant. There are four excellent restaurants within walking distance of the lodge.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed rental is payable immediately to confirm your booking. No booking is guaranteed until this payment is received by The Beach House Lodge. We require a refundable breakage deposit as set out in your booking confirmation letter. You are required to pay the deposit within 5 working days of making the booking, failing which it will lapse. We also require confirmation of the payment. This deposit can be paid by way of bank transfer or direct deposit into our bank account. The bank account details are supplied with your booking request letter.
The non-refundable balance of rental due is payable 7 days prior to arrival by way of bank transfer or direct deposit. Failure to make the final payment will result in cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of your deposit. If you are transferring funds from outside of the Republic, please note that we cannot be held liable for any of the costs associated with foreign exchange transactions, forex bank charges or Reserve Bank charges and these costs will be passed on to you for payment.
Any cheque payments must be preceded by a ten working day clearance period. No other cheque payments will be accepted under any circumstances. In the event of a cheque being dishonoured for any reason whatsoever, you will be held liable for any bank charges incurred.
We require a breakage deposit payable 7 days prior to arrival. The amount of this deposit is specified in your booking request letter. The breakage deposit will be refunded within 14 days of your departure. We reserve the right to deduct any amount due in respect of damage/breakage/loss/theft of any items and specifically for any apparent misuse of linen and/or towels. You are liable for any amounts exceeding the breakage deposit at time of departure.
We require a copy of your identity document and proof of residence at the time of making the booking deposit.
If you reside outside of the Republic, and do not have a South African banking account, please advise us in order that we may refund your breakage deposit in cash.
We do not cater for students or groups of people where all persons are under the age of 25. Failure to adhere to this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.
The arrival time is 2pm on the date specified on your booking confirmation and departure time is 10am on the specified date. Please adhere to these times to enable us to service the apartment for your arrival or the next tenants’ arrival. Please advise us of your expected arrival and departure times to allow us to meet you at the apartment with the keys. Where possible provide us with a cell phone number to enable us to contact you and confirm exact time of arrival on the day.
There are strictly no pets allowed. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in immediate eviction with no refund of rent.
Tenants are expected to appreciate the fact that other apartment owners/tenants are present in the complex at all times and to keep noise to a minimum, particularly after 11pm in the evening and before 7am in the morning. Failure to adhere to this will result in immediate eviction with no refund of rent.
Your booking confirmation will specify the maximum number of guests permitted to stay in the accommodation during your stay. Only paying guests are permitted to be on the property .Failure to adhere to this will result in immediate eviction with no refund of rent.
All rooms are serviced by one of our maids between the hours of 8am to 3pm on weekdays. Maid service is available on weekends and Public Holidays at an additional cost of R100 per day (please request this when booking to enable us to schedule staff). While our maids are experienced we accept no liability for any damage they may cause to your property when providing personal services. If you have delicate or expensive items please advise the maid of this when requesting their services.
We will supply all linen, crockery, cutlery, and appliances as specified in our detailed property description. The linen is changed every 7th day and the towels are changed every 3rd day. We will endeavour to repair any faulty equipment as soon as practically possible after you notify us of the fault. No reduction of rental will be made for delays in repairs beyond our control. We will endeavour to find a substitute appliance when necessary.
Beach and bath towels are supplied. The bath towels supplied with the apartment are for internal use only. Should we find that bath towels are being used externally, the cost of replacement will be deducted from your breakage deposit.
We provide an arrival pack of tea, coffee, sugar , milk and biscuits. We also provide complementary soaps for the bathrooms and toilet paper only on arrival.
Please leave the apartment in the condition in which it was found, with all doors and windows securely locked, outdoor furniture duly stored, and the keys returned to us in accorance with the agreed method.
In the event of The Beach House Lodge employing attorneys to enforce any of their rights, or the registered owners rights in terms of this Agreement, the tenant agrees to be held liable for costs on an attorney and client scale.
The Beach House Lodge and the registered owners of the property accept no liability in the event of injury or death of any person in occupation of rented premises.
The Beach House Lodge endeavours to insure the property is equipped with adequate security. However The Beach House Lodge and the registered owners of the property accept no liability for any thefts that occur during your occupation. Please contact us if at any stage you have concerns about the security. Any breaches of the security should be reported to the Police as soon as possible.
In the unlikely event that the property becomes unavailable for any reason, The Beach House Lodge reserves the right to refund your rental to you.
No rental refunds will be made in the event that the property is vacated earlier than the period you have booked for.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building .Failure to comply will result in immediate eviction with no refund of rent.
