About Karoo Hippo Conservancy

Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay situated halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The Karoo Hippo Conservancy is just 8 km off the N1 between Colesberg and Hanover, and is a perfect place to refresh after a long drive.

Come and see the only hippos in the Karoo. You can even enjoy sundowners at the hippo pool followed by a blowout three-course evening braai. Catch your breath in the wide, open spaces of the Karoo. If you are after a bit of action, there is mountain biking, donkey cart rides, birding, night drives and flying at the local airstrip. Two guesthouses are available with wedding and conference facilities.

Safari: hippo drives every afternoon ( the only hippo population in the Northern Cape , night drives and birding drives , walks to see bushman etchings.

Wedding Venues: we do weddings , country / farm stile , weekend packages , very popular venue , book well in advance.

Conference Venues: 50 - 100 , delegates.

Family friendly: we love family's and are family friendly.
